On Wednesday 20th January, Year 6 visited the Horniman Museum. We had a great day and saw lots of weird and wonderful creatures that we had never seen before.

What was your favourite part about the trip? What was the weirdest, coolest and most surprising creature?

In Year 6, we have been discussing ways and reasons to stay safe online. We watched a great video which gave us some advice about social networking. You can watch it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/watch/p01g2pt6.

Why is it important to think about what information you share online? What are the rules? Whay are they so important?

In Year 6, we have been writing explanation texts about the heart and heart transplants. We looked at lots of different explanations before we started writing to see what makes an effective explanation.

On Thursday 4th December, we went to see ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. There were lots of really funny characters and the story was really well performed. There were lots of differences from the original story, but they worked really well.

What did you enjoy most about the show? Who were your favourite characters and why? What did you think at the beginning when the actors began performing Hamlet? How did it compare to other pantomimes you have seen in the past? Leave your reviews and comments below!

Today in class we did some more ‘tinkering’ in Scratch. Can you tell me what you learnt about? Did you discover anything new? Can you remember any of our key words and explain what they mean?
