Jack and the Beanstalk

On Thursday 4th December, we went to see ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. There were lots of really funny characters and the story was really well performed. There were lots of differences from the original story, but they worked really well.

What did you enjoy most about the show? Who were your favourite characters and why? What did you think at the beginning when the actors began performing Hamlet? How did it compare to other pantomimes you have seen in the past? Leave your reviews andΒ comments below!

I really enjoyed the show! My favourite part is when all the fire works came up. I thought the show was really funny and I really did enjoy it.

  2. Sara says:

Jack and the beanstalk was different to the traditional tale, there was a giant and everything but this time there was the auntie, cousin and the Shepardgonzalez.

Good work Sarah and Sara…you were very quick! Don’t forget to answer all my questions though!

I found the Shepherd Gonzalez family as really funny, however my favourite characters were probably Daisy the cow and Geoff the giant. Daisy’s song about being an other animal – especially the part about the anaconda – made my day! πŸ™‚ LOL!

When the characters were performing Hamlet, I was fooled and thought that we had gone to the wrong play!

When the giants sang about when they were in prison, I really enjoyed the harmonies. I’m not sure about my favourite part, though, and liked the show all round! πŸ˜‰

In my opinion, the play was more unique than the other pantomime plays that we’d already been to and it had lots of fun twists in it! πŸ˜€

On Thursday yr6 went to a show called Jack and the Beanstalk this story was a bit different to the traditional tail and to others storys I have seen. When the show first started it was a show called Hamlet we all were very puzzled and all the teachers looked at each other but that was their twist. When they started off with doing the first scene of Hamlet and then the people from Jack and the Beanstalk came in saying why are these people doing Hamlet and they all play argued. Then they did Jack and the Beanstalk. My favourite part was with the Gonzallas a Mexican group of people because they were very funny and they made me laugh. Year 6 have been to a pantomime before at Hackney Empire and we all liked it but I think this one was just brilliant! They even let us join in in some parts. My favourite character was Grettel because she was locked away in a place with her evil mother with some giants and she sang a lot and she just went with the flow. That’s why she is my favourite character πŸ™‚

Great review Lucy May. Yes, the twist at the beginning was really clever. It was funny seeing all your puzzled faces

On Thursday we saw Jack and the been stalk. It was fun and it was surprising and better than i thought!!! The part when the 2 of the actors kissed every one in the audience screamed :P. When he started to clime the been stalk it look very silly. Even you know that it was silly it was still good.

  9. Kimberly says:

I enjoyed when the Shepherd Gonzalez threw us packets of sweets, but i didn’t get any because Ganiyu stole mine. πŸ™
My favourite character was Daisy the cow because for a cow like Daisy, she (or he) done a lot of human like things like singing, standing up and hitting people with her front hoves when they try to milk her (or him).
When Hamlet went on in the beginning, I was really confused but when I saw the fencing i was starting to get intrested in it, but sadly it all had to end so quickly. πŸ™
The plays that we saw in other pantomimes was all sticking to the story, but this one did it’s own way of Jack and the beanstalk, so as I didn’t know what was coming next in the Jack and the beanstalk we saw last Thursday, I was super keen and at the end it was really delightful. πŸ™‚

On Thursday was wonderful because we got to see what Jack and the beanstalk was all about. Also we ate a delicious treat and saw the lost one`s and funny parts, like when they were on a cow chase. Also when they where singing and rapping. It was amazing and fantastic

  12. Riley says:

I really enjoyed Jack and the beanstalk because it was really funny like when Jack kept saying the giant was too small. Even though this show didn’t have a beanstalk it was still really good.

  13. Husam says:

I liked it, it was epic it was fantastic! The 5 shepherds Gonzalez were very funny. In the traditional the giants were trying to rule the world but this time Jack’s mum’s sister tried to rule the world instead. But when the 2 actors smooched the audience all screamed, including me!!!

  14. Cameron says:

I loved the trip my favourite part was when the two siters found out they were related and I caught a big pack of haribo star mix

  15. Christian says:

I found the shepherd Gonzalez my favourite character because it was really funny as well I liked Daisy the cow. I liked when the giant sang the song it was really good and I really wanted a sweet from the shepherd Gonzalez but it slip out of my hand, it was so sad but I had a good time and it was fun. πŸ™‚

  16. Kai says:

I thought the play was really high-quality and satisfying, although some bits I found puzzling, especially when the shepherd Gonzalez appeared and when they started doing Hamlet instead of Jack and the beanstalk.
My favorite part was when the evil lady dressed up as a rapper .

  17. Christian says:

    It was really good
